Title : Two Musicians under a Tree Artist : RamKumar Manna Medium : Terracotta Size : 41" x 19" x 18"
RamKumar Manna's name is synonymous with the word "clay". His strong figures with their rough texture have a sensitivity yet tactile strength never seen before in this medium. He uses a unique mixture of clay and grog and fires each piece for days in a hand made brick kiln. They can be used indoors or outdoors.
This mixed-media work was done for his solo show at Range Gallery "PerForm". The artist shows two figures of village musicians under a tree housing metal birds. Inspired by real-life performers and villager scenes, these almost surreal works of veteran terracotta artist RamKumar Manna are unique and very collectible.
