It has been skilfully executed using the beautiful but difficult medium of tempera paints. Atish Mukherjee’s fascination with folk-art has led him to experiment with forms and mediums. He researches his medium before working with it, be it tempera on stretched cloth, metal or terracotta. This work too reflects his deep understanding of folk and rural art, and his perception of certain elements of nature which he uses to depict human forms and faces.
