Born in 1976, Arunangshu has a BVA from the Indian College of Arts & Draftsmanship. Since his graduation he has been a participant in numerous exhibitions and camps, and has sponsors and collectors all over the country.
In 2011, Arunangshu was awarded the prestigious all-India Birla Academy of Fine Arts Award for excellence in drawing.
Arunangshu's main inspiration is the world of nature, especially animals and insects, where he finds simplicity in the pleasure of living, interdependency, and the struggle to survive.
"Vase of Flowers" is a large canvas where the artist employs his dexterity with lines to depict a goddess-like vase of flowers. His use of earthy tones and childish shapes is deceptive – his is a highly sophisticated style, gaining fast recognition in the world of art as a fresh new voice.
